Tips to Increase Gas Mileage

General Tips to Reduce Your Annual Fuel/Gas Costs

*Don't buy a car that ges less than 25 mpg (And today's "gosh, no really" award goes to...me!) Wait! Read on, not all of my suggestions are that dumb!!

*Consider using an additive such as acetone to improve the potency of gas (Its up to you, all the research I've done says that it's ok for engine parts and actually helps to keep your engine cleaner, however, acetone can dry out rubber gaskets - so use at your own risk) For more information, read my blog on "increase gas mileage with acetone"

*Drive with the windows down instead of the air conditioner on - research shows that as long as you have both windows down, there is not really a noticible decrease in gas mileage. If one window is down it could negatively affect the aerodynamics and result in decreased mileage.

*Nothing may bear greater impact than your driving habits. If you wait till the last second to slam on the brakes when coming up to a red light - it costs you gas. If you are a lead foot - it costs you gas. For more information on driving habits of those who get the best gas mileage, visit my blog
